Focus on Small Business Top of page

Proveyance specializes in helping businesses and organizations with short-term budgets of between $995 and $4,995. In other words, small businesses. Most are classified as small and deserve the same opportunities that the big guys enjoy. For years, we've been strong advocates for the small business, partly because we are one ourselves.

When we started Proveyance (Formerly Transit One), the type of projects we would find ourselves accepting were nearly all for small businesses. And not just high-tech savvy businesses, but rather typical service businesses like bakeries, retailers and the like. Before we knew it, we were tailoring our services especially for small business. When we took the opportunity to reinvent ourselves, we capitalized on the small business knowledge we had aquired over the years. Thus forming Proveyance.

We take pride in our ability to deliver a wide array of simple to advanced solutions to small businesses that need them. Most other web development boutiques focus on either the simple or the advanced but rarely do they know how to work on both sides of the fence. This enables us to talk your language and understand your budgetary constraints while still providing advanced options and alternatives.

Complete Microsoft Solutions Top of page

In this business there are really only two paths to take when it comes to the systems on which to build websites. The choice is between Microsoft and everybody else. In many ways it's similar to the rivalry between Macintosh and PCs. They're both personal computers, but Macintosh computers are built exlusively by Apple. However, on the PC side you're options range from Compaq to E-Machines.

Microsoft .NET Connected Here at Proveyance, we use exclusively Microsoft systems and software. Microsoft Internet Information Services 5.1 (or IIS) is the Windows XP web service that makes it easy to publish information on the web. With IIS, we create dynamic content by using server-side scripting and components to create browser-independent dynamic content.

Active Server Pages (ASP) is Microsoft's easy-to-use alternative to CGI, PHP, Cold Fusion and other scripting platforms by allowing content developers to embed any scripting language or server component into their web sites. ASP provides access to all of the HTTP request and response streams, as well as standards-based database connectivity and the ability to customize content for different browsers. This combined with .NET and more standard scripting through HTML and JavaScript provides us with everything we need to tackle just about any project that can be thrown at us.

Stylish Designs Top of page

When it comes to website building, you should understand the distinction between developers and designers. Website development companies, when they use the term "development" are often referring to their skills at programming and work that results in the actual functionality of a site. This work can sometimes be heady stuff. Often it takes someone with an analytical or engineering mind to enjoy this type of work.

Website design companies, when they use the term "design" are most often referring to the more visual and stylistic work involved in website building. This work is something like the web's equivilent of graphic design. It takes an artistic and creative mind to gravitate towards this side of website building.

Developer or Designer? Proveyance works on both sides of the fence, having both experience in development and design. This benefits our clients because we're able to bring this expertise to the table from the start. We can zig or zag as needed from our perspective as developers or designers.

The design philosophy at Proveyance is to continue trying until everything gels together. The idea is to convey the messages required by the client and still create an overall visual appearance that is inviting and pleasant to look at. This is easier written than done. This is a major objective as we plan and build every site.

Regardless of your budget or needs, Proveyance will create a website you can be proud to own. Every project we undertake results in many compliments and well-deserved praise. Much of that praise results from the website's stylish appearance.

Delivering Consistent Messages Top of page

Small businesses have always found it difficult to portray the essence of their business and quality of their brands to their customers. In fact, most small businesses haven't taken the opportunity to brand their products or services at all. And when they do brand a product or service, they often fail to adhere to it in everything they publish or produce. This is a critical mistake that can result in lost revenue and brand awareness.

At Proveyance, we are keenly focused on helping to further establish our client's brands and work relentlessly to stay consistent in the way we present them. Our projects are so successful because we know how effective staying on point can be. Your customers won't express exactly why they behaved the way they did when visiting your site, but be assured they will behave in a more favorable way when your site delivers consistent messages. Consistency is just another standard at Proveyance.

Dynamic Web Sites Top of page

Dynamic Web Sites The purpose of building your new website is likely to conduct business online, add value for your customers or to save your business time and money. It would be impossible to do much of this with a static website. The alternative is a dynamic website. One that is regularly updated or displays unique content to each visitor based on a certain criteria.

Although most of the content you view online is static, more and more you find dynamic features and functions being implimented to provide greater capabilities. In all cases, a website will include both static and dynamic content. A good example would be a bank's website. The home page of a bank's website is nearly always made up of static content. But once you log-in to your account, dynamic content is displayed that's unique to your account and your situation.

Of course a bank's website is a huge and costly endeavor. But don't assume that dynamic content is out of your reach. In fact, most of the projects Proveyance tackles involve dynamic content of some kind. After all, you have a list of requirements for your new site. Some of them will surely require dynamic content.

Back-End Systems Top of page

In situations where your web site has an advanced, dynamic front-end you're certain to need an equally advanced back-end system to manage it. For example, a web site that sells goods or services requires that a back-end system be implimented to enable employees to manage and fulfill orders taken through the front-end system. Having a robust, thoughtful back-end administrative system can be the difference between a site that reaches goals and one that surpasses them.

Back-End Systems

Back-end systems are business as usual at Proveyance. We've invested many hours in the development of administrative tools that can be utilized in various future projects. Our latest back-end system involves a complete array of administrative tools, combined into one template that can serve most needs with minor customization.

Here are a few examples of administrative tools Proveyance can provide for you through a custom back-end system.

  • Add/Delete Data Tool

Having the ability to make changes to your site independant of Proveyance and without any programming knowledge will keep your site fresh while saving you the cost of future updates.

Compatibility Top of page

Web Sites Compatible with Common Client Browsers Nothing frustrates a website visitor more than a website that acts strangely or doesn't function as it should. Compatibility is the key to a web site that looks and functions correctly for each visitor, regardless of which browser is being used or how old it may be.

In 1994 your choice of web browsers was limited to the first popular browser of the time, Netscape Navigator and a few other upstart browsers. Fast forward to today and the browser landscape has changed quite a bit. Your choice of browser now includes Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape Navigator, Apple Safari and many others.

Compliance with the various programming standards organizations and internal compliance testing are the methods that Proveyance employs to ensure your site will function as intended when viewed with most modern browsers.
