Power Belt Conveyors
Power belt conveyors are an economical solution for situations not suited for gravity. Ashland Conveyor offers a standard line of Slider Bed and Roller Bed Power Belt conveyors. Both are also available as incline conveyors. The Slider Bed Box Frame belt conveyor is the most economical conveying solution while Roller Bed will convey heavier loads than a Slider Bed. All of our standard powered conveyors come with a 1/2HP motor. Look through this guide to understand the products that we can supply and how to choose the right one for your application.
While Ashland Conveyor cannot provide all configurations of powered belt conveyors, we have a wide selection to meet your application needs. When choosing a belted conveyor for your application, you will need to take the following into account:
- Overall Length
- Belt Width
- Total Weight of Load
- Supply Voltage and Phase
- Speed (Fixed or Variable
- Degree of Incline
- Controls
Slider Bed SB400/SB350
The SB400 and the SB350 conveyors provide a quiet, low cost, smooth conveying surface which can be used for many applications such as assembly, packing, sorting, and testing. The Slider Bed is suitable for light and medium loads. The flat bed surface is ideal for assembly lines. Because the belt slides on a metal bed, a relatively high coefficient of friction is created. This reduces the load carrying capacity compared to a roller bed conveyor.
SB400
The Slider Bed Box Frame is the most economical powered conveyor choice. The conveyor is functionally equivalent to the Slider Bed Channel Frame except the Channel Frame maintains its overall length as the belt is tightened. As the belt is tightened in the Box Frame, the length of the conveyor increases. The Slider Bed Box Frame also provides a sleeker design. The belt option on this conveyor is Black PVC 120.
Choosing Supports for the SB400
Compatible supports will be our BH15 model and our 3BH30 model. Castered supports are available only in the 3BH30 model. Knee braces are recommended with the castered option. To get the correct between frame dimension for your SB400, add 2” to the width of the belt. For example, if your belt width is 30”, the between frame dimension needed for your supports is 32”.
SB350
The Slider Bed Channel Frame belt conveyor is functionally equivalent to the Slider Bed Box Frame except the Channel Frame maintains the overall length. All belt tightening is internal to the frame whereas as with the Box Frame as the belt is tightened the length of the conveyor increases. The belt option on this conveyor is Black PVC 120.
Choosing Supports for the SB350
Compatible supports will be our BH15 model and our 3BH30 model. Castered supports are available only in the 3BH30 model. Knee braces are recommended with the castered option. To get the correct between frame dimension for your SB350, add 3” to the width of the belt. For example, if your belt width is 30”, the between frame dimension needed for your supports is 33”.
Roller Bed Conveyor
Higher loads and less horsepower for the same load is one reason to select a roller bed conveyor versus a slider bed conveyor. This conveyor is well suited for moving high capacity product throughout a facility.
RB190
The Roller Bed Channel Frame belt conveyor will convey heavier loads with less horsepower than slider bed conveyor. Since the belt rides on free turning rollers, the coefficient of friction is much less. Similar to the Slider Bed Channel Frame, the Roller Bed also maintains its overall length as the belt tension is increased. The roller bed is comprised of 1.9”x16 gauge galvanized steel rollers (roller model KG) on 6" centers. The load capacity per roller must not be exceeded. Standard roller spacing is 6”. Belting on our Roller Bed is black PVC 120.
Choosing Supports for the RB190
Compatible supports will be our BH15 model and our 3BH30 model. Castered supports are available only in the 3BH30 model. Knee braces are recommended with the castered option. To get the correct between frame dimension for your RB190, add 3” to the width of the belt. For example, if your belt width is 30”, the between frame dimension needed for your supports is 33”.

Incline Conveyor
Choose between our Slider Bed Incline and our Roller Bed Incline to provide floor-to-floor travel and elevation changes.
SBI350
The Slider Bed Channel Frame Incline belt conveyor will convey cartons, boxes, etc., floor to floor in either direction at a controlled speed. This conveyor is designed to increase elevation in gravity applications. Each incline conveyor includes a double noseover which provides a horizontal exit. Belting on our Slider Bed Incline is black PVC 120 rough top.
RBI350
The Roller Bed Channel Frame Incline belt conveyor will convey cartons, boxes, etc., floor to floor in either direction at a controlled speed. Among its many uses is to increase elevation in gravity applications. The roller bed incline will convey heavier packages than the slider bed. Each incline conveyor includes a double noseover which provides a horizontal exit. Belting on our Slider Bed Incline is black PVC 120 rough top.

Controls
Ashland Conveyor can provide several different control options for your conveyor to fit your application needs. To see a breakdown of what we can offer, please visit our Control Selection Guide page.
Speed
The standard speed for our conveyors is 60 FPM (feet per minute). We also offer different speeds including 30, 40, and 90 FPM for an additional cost. If a fixed speed will not work for your application, you can choose to add a VFD control and this will give your conveyor variable speed.
Safety
When using a powered conveyor in your facility, it is important to keep safety issues in mind. We encourage our customers to prevent pinch points that exist when power conveyors are placed adjacent to other conveyors or equipment. Pop-Out Brackets are used when placing a belt conveyor inline with another conveyor or an existing piece of equipment. The bracket and roller assembly allows the roller to "pop-out" if an object becomes entangled between it and the belt. See the image below for an example:
